Technology in cancer research
Technology plays a key role in the research we do, the strength lies in image processing and analysis of large data sets utilizing cluster computing, building clinical information systems and utilizing internet technology systems to build and distribute clinical data.
We continue to develop hardware and software for high throughput collection, analysis and visualization of image data. Basically all projects at the Institute are based on tools and applications developed in-house.
Computers & Cancer
Detailed genomic analysis in large clinical trials demands high throughput methods, where multitasking and strong computing power is mandatory. Cluster computing with several hundred processors is one of many in-house developments where computer technology is used to enhance cancer research.
Statistics & Reporting
Data is key to any research, but medical informatics is also a scientific approach to the study of information and data; it’s structure, communication, and it’s use. The projects listed below address different aspects of this.
